Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: TIN DEPOSIT IS IN BLEACHED, RECRYSTALLIZED LIMESTONE, ABOUT 200 FT. FROM NEAREST OUTCROP OF GRANITE. 4 MAIN FAULTS CUT THE SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. THE E. NORMAL FAULT DIPS 70 E., AND MOVED THE W. BLOCK N. AS MUCH AS 1000 FT. THE N. FAULT STRIKES N 60 E AND DIPS NEAR VERTICAL, WITH THE N. BLOCK ABOUT 120 FT. S.W. RELATIVE TO S. BLOCK. TWO SMALLER FAULTS STRIKE N 60 E AND DIP 45 OR MORE S.E. JOINT SETS STRIKE E. AND DIP 70 TO 80 S, AND N 50 W, DIPPING STEEPLY. A FLAT LYING DOLOMITE THRUST SHEET PROBABLY EXTENDED ABOVE THE DEPOSIT A FEW FEET ABOVE PRESENT SURFACE. CASSITERITE OCCURS AS DARK BROWN GRAINS AND CRYSTALS UP TO 1/2 INCH IN DIAMETER, BUT MOST GRAINS ARE SMALL. IT OCCURS AS STRINGER, CLUSTERS, AND DISSEMINATIONS THROUGHOUT GOSSAN. OTHER MINERALS PRESENT ARE MAGNETITE, TOURMALINE, PYRITE, EPIDOTE, GARNET, CHALCOPYRITE, CALCITE, LUDWIGITE, ARSENOPYRITE, GALENA, SCHEELITE AND POWELLITE. ACTIONS OF HYDROTHERMAL SOLUTIONS IN CONTACT METAMORPHIC ZONES HAVE ALTERED
  • ROCK EXTREMELY. WEST ORE BODY IS 275 FT. LONG, 40 FT. WIDE, LENSING OUT AT BOTH ENDS. E. ORE BODY IS 100 FT. LONG, UP TO 30 FT. WIDE, LENTICULAR IN SHAPE.
