  • RESERVES DEPLETED ACCORDING TO TELEDYNE UPON SHUTDOWN. HOWEVER, SOME UNDERGROUND RESERVES, REC. MATERIALS IN TAILS STILL THERE.
  • PERMANENT SHUTDOWN, MID - DECEMBER 1986. TELEDYNE TUNGSTEN CORP. GAVE UP OR DID NOT RENEW LEASE. MR. DON SMITH, NORTH FORK, CA REPRESENTS THE OWNERS (SMITH FAMILY). U.S. BUREAU of MINES FILES STATE THAT STRAWBERRY RESERVES DEPLETED AT TIME OF SHUTDOWN. HOWEVER NEGOTIATIONS TO REOPEN MINE, AND REWORK AND RECLAIM TAILS FAILED WHEN STATE (CALIFORNIA) REQUIRED BONDING THAT POTENTIAL NEW OPERATOR FELT WAS PROHIBITIVE. NO PUBLIC INFO AVAILABLE ON ORE GRADES/RESERVES, OR MATERIALS IN TAILINGS.
