Comments on the production information

  • PRODUCT A IS PEBBLE AT A GRADE OF 32.72% P2O5. PRODUCT B IS PHOSPHATE CONCENTRATE AT A GRADE OF 33.82% P2O5. THE WEIGHTED AVERAGE GRADE OF BOTH PRODUCTS IS 33.30% P2O5. AN OVERALL ASSAY FOR COMBINED PEBBLE AND CONCENTRATE WAS PROVIDED BY HOPEWELL BASED ON 2 SAMPLES. IT SHOWS 33.32% P2O5, 105 PPM U3O8, 5.0% INSOL., 2.3% FE2O3, 1.1% AL2O3, 0.5% MGO, 3.7% F, 0.0001% CHLORIDE, 47.7% CAO, AND 0.5% ORGANICS. ALTHOUGH REPORTED PRODUCT TONNAGES ARE DRY EQUIVALENT, THE PEBBLE PRODUCT ACTUALLY CONTAINS 8% MOISTURE, AND THE CONCENTRATE ACTUALLY CONTAINS 12% MOISTURE.
  • THE PROPERTY WAS SHUT DOWN ON JULY 1, 1986, TEMPORARILY, BUT WILL REMAIN INACTIVE THROUGH 1987--PROBABLY AN INDEFINITE SHUTDOWN. MINE IS OPERATING AT REDUCED CAPACITY AS OF 1994

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • MINE PURCHASED BY IMC IN 1989 FROM HOPEWELL LAND PARTNERS. IMC-AGRICO COMPANY JOINT VENTURE CONSUMATED IN JAN 1994.
  • RESOURCE TONNAGE GIVEN IS IN-SITU. MINE RECOVERY IS 90%. GRADES FOR FLUORINE, URANIUM, IRON, ALUMINUM, AND MAGNESIUM WERE NOT AVAILABLE. RESOURCE IS DRY EQUIVALENT. MATRIX CONTAINS 13% PEBBLE, 35% CLAYS, AND 52% FLOTATION FEED. ESTIMATED FIGURE DURING THE 1993 ADIT UPDATE. 1994 RESERVE BASED ON A 2,270,000 MT/YR X 5 YRS LIFE (@ CONSTANT PRODUCTION RATE) / 90% MINE RECOVERY. (GIVEN BY IMC-AGRICO STAFF PERSONNEL)

Comments on the workings information

  • TOTAL LAND HOLDING IS 2676 HECTARES.

Comments on other economic factors

  • MINE-TO-MILL TRANSPORTATION IS A SLURRY PIPELINE. MILL-TO-PORT TRANSPORTATION - COSTS HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED TO REFLECT MOISTURE CONTENT. HOPEWELL HAS PLANS TO SHIP ITS PRODUCTS TO AN UNDISCLOSED PHOSPHATE OPERATION ABOUT 13 KM AWAY. IT IS PROBABLE THAT THE WET, HIGH-GRADE PRODUCTS WILL THEN BE DRIED OR WILL BE TRADED FOR DRY, LOWER-GRADE PRODUCTS. IN EITHER CASE, SHIPMENT WOULD THEN CONTINUE TO THE PORT OF TAMPA. TOTAL SHIPPING DISTANCE IS ESTIMATED TO BE 45 KM FROM HOPEWELL TO TAMPA. TO BE CONSERVATIVE, PRODUCTS ARE ASSUMED TO BE WET FOR THE ENTIRE DISTANCE, AND COSTS WERE ADJUSTED ON THIS BASIS.
  • HOPEWELL OFFICIALS DID NOT PROVIDE A MILL TOUR OR DETAILED INFORMATION ON THE MILL PROCESS, BUT STATED THAT IT IS A "CONVENTIONAL" PHOSPHATE MILL.
  • FEED GRADE OF MATRIX WAS CALCULATED. HOPEWELL DID NOT PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION.
