Comments on the production information

  • TOTAL PRODUCTION FROM 1940-56 WAS 950000 LONG TONS, AT ITS PEAK MINE PRODUCED 380 TIDAY. TIMBERS WERE PULLED AND THE D AS PROPERTY LIES. 1956. BECAUSE OF DEPLETION OF MINEABLE RESERVES SURFACE INSTALLATIONS HAVE IN PART BEEN REMOVED MINE DEVELOPED BY 6 LEVELS. 5600 LEVEL ADIT HAS RAISES TO THE 5750 AND 5900 LEVELS. 5300 LEVEL ADIT(MAIN HAULAGE) IS CONNECTED TO 5100 AND 4900 LEVELS BY A WINZE SUNK ALONG DIP OF PHOSPHATE BED. SHRINKAGE STOPPING WAS TRIED AT FIRST, BUT BROKEN ROCK PACKED AND FAILED TO RUN IN STOPES. LATER OVERHEAD STOPING WAS USED WITH STULL SUPPORTS. DILUTION DURING MINING WAS 15%. H20 AT BOTTOM OF WINZE 120 FT BELOW THE 4900 LEVEL WAS 1350 G/MIN AT TIMES.
