Deposit THE LOCATION ON RECORD 030 IS FOR THE HOY BANK, WHICH IS IN APPROXIMATE CENTER OF THE JACKSONVILLE VALLEY GROUP. OTHER N MINES IN THIS GROUP ARE ON RECORDS 011-013. THESE MINES TREN NORTH-EAST, SOUTH-WEST DIRECTION, ABOUT 1.75 MILES IN EACH DIRECTION. THE ORE WAS WASH AND LUMP HEMATITE ORES, AND PIPE THE MINES WERE ACTIVE FROM MID TO LATE 1800S. NOTE: HOY IS ON MADISONBURG 7.5 MAP, BUT BUTLER AND MCCALMON ON MINGOVILLE 7.5 MAP, AS ARE DARRAH AND ZIMMERMAN. SMITH, B AND WASHINGTON FURNACE BANKS ARE ON THE BEECH CREEK 7.5 MAP.
