| Environmental Factors | THERE ARE SOME MINOR PROBLEMS WITH THE DUMP. IT IS UP AGAINST THE CREEK, AND THERE IS SOME EROSION; HOWEVER, THERE IS NO CYANIDE. THE MAJOR PROBLEMS ARE WITH THE TAILINGS PILE. THE RELEASE REPORT HAS BEEN RECEIVED AND IS AWAITING ASSESSMENT BY POTENTIALLY LIABLE PARTY. CONTAMINATION OF SEDIMENT, SURFACE WATER, AND SOIL HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FOR EPA PRIORITY POLLUTANTS - METALS AND CYANIDE. SOIL CONTAMINATION HAS ALSO BEEN CONFIRMED FOR CONVENTIONAL ORGANIC CONTAMINANTS. GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION BY EPA PRIORITY POLLUTANTS - METALS AND CYANIDA AND CONVENTIONAL ORGANIC CONTAMINANTS IS SUSPECTED. |
