  • SHUT DOWN IN 1984 DUE TO LOW COPPER AND ZINC RECOVERY, LOW METAL PRICES, AND HIGH FREIGHT RATES. DOUBTFUL IF MINE WILL OPEN DUE TO THESE REASONS. RESTARTED 5/91 UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP. CLOSED AGAIN ON 5/93, COMPANIES LOOKING FORE MORE RESERVES.
  • OPEN PIT MINE: 10% OF RESOURCE; 100% RECOVERY; 10% DILUTION UNDERGROUND: 90% OF RESOURCE; 85% RECOVERY; 20% DILUTION. IN 1993,THE MINABLE RESERVES WERE RECALCULATED TO 1.4 MILLION TONNES AT A GRADE OF 4.48% COPPER AND 3.03% ZINC.
