  • Vermiculite deposit is listed as Sec. 15, but says it is in Natrona County. This is wrong. To be in Sec. 15, the same as the asbestos deposit, it is in Converse County.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit Asbestos deposit is "on the north side of the West Fork of Deer Creek. A serpentine lens 1,500 ft. by 500 ft. trends northeast. There are several smaller lenses; all are surrounded by granite. A small amount of amphibole asbestos, one chrysotile veinlet, 1/4-in. wide, and two vermiculite lenses have been reported." (Bull. 50, p. 8)
Deposit "Serpentine is in contact with granite pegmatite dikes; the border zones contain vermiculite up to 8 in. wide." (Bull. 50, p. 235)
