  • IN 1995, RICHMONT RECEIVED C$992,000 FROM THE QUEBEC GOVERNMENT FOR EXPLORATION. EXPLORATION PLANNED IS 820 FT OF DRIFTING AND 21,000 FT UNDERGROUND DRILLING, AIMED AT SUSTAINING PRODUCTION ABOVE 180,000 T/Y (NOTE: NORTHNER MINER USES "TONS", AND MINING JOURNAL USES "T".) AND INCREASING KNOWN RESERVES. THE QUEBEC GOVERNMENT IS FUNDING 50% OF THE PROGRAM. THE PLAN BEGAN IN 1993, HAVING A GOAL OF AVOIDING MINE CLOSURES WHEN RESERVES DECREASE. TO QUALIFY, A COMPANY MUST PROVIDE A A PROGRAM TO EXPLORE A PROMISING NEW TARGET (NM, 5/29/95,P 2)
