Comments on other economic factors

  • THE COST AND CAPACITY INFORMATION LISTED IS FOR THE YEAR 1987, WHEN THIS PROPERTY IS EXPECTED TO BE IN FULL PRODUCTION.
  • THE AVERAGE INFLOW OF WATER INTO THE MINE IS 9.5 CUBIC METERS PER MINUTE. AT THE PRESENT TIME, THE MINE IS NOT OPENED BELOW THE FORTH LEVEL. PRIOR TO WORLD WAR II, THE MINE HAD BEEN DEVELOPED TO THE NINTH LEVEL. THE MINE BEGAN PRODUCTION IN 1906 AND WAS STOPPED IN 1942 BY THE JAPANESSE INVASION OF INDONESIA. PRODUCTION BY BHP BEGAN IN 1977. PRESENT DAY PRODUCTION, DURING THE EXPLORATION STAGE, IS 100 TONNE/DAY. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT BY 1987 THE PROPERTY WILL BE IN FULL PRODUCTION AT 500 TONNE/DAY. MINE PRODUCTION PRIOR TO WORLD WAR II WAS APPROXIMATELY 500 TONNE PER DAY. THE WATER HAS A PH OF 2 TO 3, REQUIRING STAINLESS STEEL PUMPS AND RUBBER LINED PUMP COLUMNS.
