Comments on the production information

  • PRODUCTION STARTED IN 1975. THE PLANT WAS LAST MODERNIZED AND EXPANDED IN 1984.

Comments on other economic factors

  • THERE ARE THREE STAGES OF CRUSHING. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CRUSHERS OPERATE IN CLOSED CIRCUITS, WITH SCREENS. THE TERTIARY CRUSHER OPERATES IN OPEN CIRCUIT. PRIMARY MILLS OPERATE IN CLOSED CIRCUIT WITH SPIRAL CLASSIFIERS AND SECONDARY MILLS IN CLOSED CIRCUIT WITH HYDROCLONES. THE FINAL PRODUCT SIZE FOR FLOTATION FEED IS 65 PERCENT PASSING 74 MICRONS. ROUGHER AND SCAVENGER COPPER FLOTATION CIRCUITS ARE EMPLOYED, WITH TWO STAGES OF CLEANING. NO PYRITE CONCENTRATE IS PRODUCED. FLOTATION CELLS OF 3.2 CUBIC METERS ARE EMPLOYED THROUGHOUT. COPPER-PYRITE AND BARYTES FLOTATION TAILINGS ARE DISPATCHED TO SEPARATE DAMS 2.6 AND 3.0 KILOMETERS AWAY. THE COPPER CONCENTRATE CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING IMPURITIES: 0.062 PERCENT AS, 0.3 GRAMS PER TON HG, 0.0048 PERCENT BI, AND 0.01 PERCENT SB. THERE ARE PLANS TO RECONSTRUCT THE TAILINGS DAMS IN ORDER TO EXTEND THEIR LIVES.
  • ORE IS SUPPLIED ENTIRELY BY THE MADNEULI MINE, 6 KILOMETERS FROM THE CONCENTRATOR. THE CONCENTRATES, IN 1990, WERE THEN DELIVERED BY RAIL ENTIRELY TO THE SREDNEURALSK COPPER SMELTER AT REVDA IN THE URALS. IN 1989, CONCENTRATES WERE DELIVERED TO THE BALKHASH, SREDNEURALSK, AND ALMALIC SMELTERS.
