Comments on other economic factors

  • TRANSPORTATION COST MILL TO SMELTER: $26.30/MT.
  • THE MILL CAN PRODUCE 2 TYPES OF CONCENTRATE FOR ITS JAPANESE CUSTOMERS: A "AAA" GRADE WHICH IS FAIRLY LOW GRADE AT 46-46% CR2O3 AND IS USED FOR HIGH CARBON FERROCHROME PRODUCTION. THE HIGH GRADE CONCENTRATE NEEDS 2 STAGES OF SPIRAL CONCENTRATION WHILE THE LOW GRADE ONLY REQUIRES ONE STAGE. THIS CODING REPRESENTS A COMBINATION OF THE TWO PRODUCTS.

Deposit FEED GRADE OF CR2O3 FROM CHROMITE IS 15-20 PERCENT. SURFACE OPERATION IS SMALL SCALE AND IS ONLY OPERATING DURING THE DRY MONTHS WHEN THE ROADS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. IT IS ECONOMICAL TO MINE THE SURFACE BECAUSE THE GROUND IS LOOSE AND NO BLASTING IS REQUIRED. THE MILLED ORE IS SHIPPED TO JAPAN WHERE IT IS SMELTED. PLANT FOR THIS MATERIAL ARE IN PROGRESS AT PRESENT BUT THE MATERIAL HAS NOT BEEN ANALYZED IN THIS STUDY (1981). TOTAL PROPERTY CONSISTS OF 73 MINING CLAIMS OVER AN 8 KM N-S LENGTH AND INCLUDES THE DAWN AND AURORA PROSPECTS IN THE SOUTH SECTION. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE REPORTED HIGH-GRADE ORE RESERVE (IN ANNUAL REPORT) JUST REFERS TO THE ACOJE MINE IN THE NORTH SECTION AND DOES NOT INCLUDE OTHER ORE BODIES AT DEPTH IN THE SOUTH SECTION. THE ACOJE CLAIMS ALSO CONTAIN NICKEL-PLATINUM SULFIDE ORE AT DEPTH AND PRODUCES THESE COMMODITIES SPORADICALLY DEPENDING UPON THE MARKET SITUATIONS. AS OF 1979 THE COMPANY HAD CONVERTED THEIR NICKEL ORE MILL FOR USE IN TREATING CHROMITE ORES. NI & PT ORES HAVE BEEN EVALUATED AND DESCRIBED UNDER A SEPARATE SEQUENCE NUMBER. STRIKE OF OREBODY: N45W; DIP IS SOUTH.
