  • THE BURUKTAL ANODE PLANT IS MUCH LARGER THAN THE BURUKTAL FERRONICKEL SMELTER WHERE THE ANODE PLANT CAN PRODUCE UP TO 18,000 METRIC TONS PER YEAR OF NICKEL IN ANODE, USING NI-CO SULPHIDE CONCENTRATES FROM CUBA FOR FEED, CONTAINING 50 PERCENT NI PLUS CO; AND USING LATERITE ORE FROM THE URAL REGION, AVERAGING 1.0 PERCENT NICKEL. THE CUBAN FEED IS PROCESSED ON TOLL BASIS, TONNAGE PROCESSED WAS REDUCED IN 1992.
