Deposit EL YACIMIENTO TERESITA IS LOCATED 5 KM FROM THE PLANTA MANUEL ANTONIO MATTA IN COPIAPO. RESERVES ARE 850,000 TONNES AT 1.7% CU INSOLUBLE IN A STOCKWORK BODY IN LIMESTONE WITH PYRITES, CHALCOPYRITE, AND BORNITE. THE MINERAL WILL BE MINED UNDERGROUND (OPEN STOPE). THE PROJECT WILL SUPPLY THE PLANTA MANUEL A. MATTA AT A RATE OF 400 TONNES/DAY, AMOUNTING TO A PRODUCTION OF 1,500 TONNES OF REFINED COPPER EACH YEAR FOR A PERIOD OF 7 YEARS. THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE EARNINGS SHOULD BE SOME $3,000,000 PER YEAR. THE PROJECT BEGAN FULL CAPACITY IN SEPTEMBER, 1974
