Deposit THE DAYUKOW DEPOSIT IS LOCATED ON THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE DAHONGSHAN HIGHLANDS. THE ALLUVIAL PLAINS TO THE SOUTH OF THE SITE ARE BETWEEN 200 AND 500 M IN ELEVATION, WITH ELEVATIONS IN THE DAHONGSHAN REACHING 1680M. THE MINE IS LOCATED 2 KM. WEST OF THE TOWN OF HUJI CONSTRUCTION OF THE 1.5 MILLION TON/YEAR MINE, BENEFICIATION PLANT, 100,000 T/YR PHOSPHORIC ACID PLANT, 560,000 T/YR H2SO4 PLANT, 560,000 T/YR TSP PLANT, TO BE COMPLETE BY 1994 A SMALL ALUMINUM FLUORIDE PLANT WILL ALSO BE BUILT TO REDUCE POLUTION FROM FLUORINE LIBERATED BY FERTILIZER PRODUCTION. LUICHONG MINE OPERATIONS ARE ASSUMED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE DAYUKOW OPERATIONS. IN 1985, THE IBRD WAS CONSIDERING LENDING USD 94 MILLION FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE DAYUKOW MINE, CONSTRUCTION OF A MILL, AND CONSTRUCTION OF A SULPHURIC AND PHOSPHORIC ACID PLANT. THE LOAN WAS PART OF A USD 137 MILLION LOAN WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY APPROVED.
