  • TITANIFEROUS IRONSANDS, DERIVED FROM WEATHERING AND COASTAL TRANSPORT/CONCENTRATION OF VOLCANIC ASH, LAVA AND ANDESITE, CONSTITUTE THE LARGEST KNOWN IRON ORE RESOURCE. FOR 500 KM ALONG THE WEST COAST OF THE NORTH ISLAND, THE PRESENCE OF IRONSANDS IS INDICATED BY BLACK BEACHES, COASTAL IRONSAND DUNES AND BEDDED DEPOSITS EXTENDING TO SEVERAL MILES INLAND, AND OFF-SHORE IRONSANDS EXTENDING DOWN TO ABOUT 27 M DEPTH. NEW ZEALAND IRONSANDS ARE OF PLEISTOCENE/ HOLOCENE AGE.
  • THE LAND WHICH IS DREDGED FOR IRONSANDS IS RESTORED BY THE COMPANY AFTER DREDGING IS COMPLETED.
