General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE SCHEELITE DEPOSIT IS DIVIDED INTO EASTERN OSTFELD AND WESTERN (WESTFELD) ORE ZONES. THE WESTFELD CONTAINS SEVEN ORE BODIES. AS OF 1990, MITTERSILL WAS ONE OF THE FEW TUNGSTEN MINES IN THE FREE WORLD STILL OPERATING AT OR NEAR CAPACITY. OPEN PIT RESERVES WERE EXPECTED TO BE EXHAUSTED BY 1985, AND PRODUCTION IS NOW (1990) ENTIRELY FROM THE WESTFELD UNDERGROUND OPERATION.
