Environmental Factors FOUR DISCHARGING ADITS WERE IDENTIFIED AT THE SITE. ONE OF THE DISCHARGES WAS SAMPLED FOR LABORATORY ANALYSIS. NO MAXIMUM CONTAMINANT LEVELS WERE EXCEEDED IN THE ADIT DISCHARGE. PONY CREEK FLOWED THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE SITE. SURFACE WATER AND SEDIMENT SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED UPSTREADM AND DOWNSTREAM FROM THE SITE IN PONY CREEK. NO MAXIMUM CONTAMINANT LEVELS WERE EXCEEDED. AN OBSERVED RELEASE TO PONY CREEK (SEDIMENT) WAS DOCUMENTED FOR ZINC. POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARDS OBSERVED AT THE SITE INCLUDED FIVE OPEN ADITS AND THREE HIGHWALLS (>25 FEET). A SAMPLE OF LEACH PAD MATERIAL COLLECTED FROM THIS SITE REVEALED A CYANIDE CONCENTRATION OF 0.394 MG/KG.
