Deposit OF THE DEPOSITS IN THE KARA TAU, CHULAK TAU IS THE SMALLEST WITH A LENGTH OF ABOUT 5KM. THE PRODUCTIVE HORIZON CONSISTS OF THREE BEDS: THE TOP BED (MAIN ORE ZONE) 29.5% P2O5; THE SILICEOUS PHOSPHATE BED, WITH 14.2% P2O5; AND THE LOWER PHOSPHORITE BED, WITH 22.2% P2O5. THE TOP BED RANGES FROM 6-12M AND, WHERE IT IS WEATHERED MAY CONTAIN UP TO 36%P2O5. CHULAK TAU IS PART OF THE KARA TAU PHOSPHATE REGION. IT IS THE ONLY PURE UNDERGROUND MINE IN THE DISTRICT, AND HAS A CAPACITY OF 2-3 MIL. MTPY. DUE TO THE STEEPNESS OF THE STRATA IN THE KARA TAU, SUBLEVEL CAVING IS BEING USED. RECENTLY, IT WAS REPORTED THAT THE MINE HAD TWO SHAFTS 431M DEEP.
