Comments on the geologic information

  • TOTAL RESERVES OF THE RUDNANY II MINE CONSIST OF 7.86 MILLION METRIC TONS OF PROVEN ORE AND 1.71 MILLION METRIC TONS OF INFERRED ORE. THE ORE FROM THIS MINE COME FROM HYDROTHERMAL SIDERITE-SULPHIDE VEINS IN PALEOZOIC STRATA. THE DEPOSIT CONSISTS OF THREE PRINCIPAL VEINS: DROZDIAK IN THE SOUTH, HRUBA IN THE CENTER, AND ZLATNIK IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE ORE FIELD. THE VERTICAL EXTENT OF THE MINERALIZATION IS ABOUT ONE KILOMETER. THE VEINS ARE COMMONLY 4 TO 8 METERS THICK, BUT THEY CAN VARY FROM ONE TO 30 METERS IN THICKNESS. THE GANGUE MINERALS ARE SIDERITE, BARITE, AND FERRO-BARITE. THE ORE DEPOSIT IS MINED FROM FOUR SHAFTS EXTENDING OVER A LENGTH OF 6 KILOMETERS.

Comments on the production information

  • THE RUDNANY II MINE PRODUCES IRON CONCENTRATE AND FERROBARITE. IN THE YEAR 1989, THE RUDNANY II MINE PRODUCED ORES WITH HEAD GRADES OF 24.4 PERCENT IRON, .115 PERCENT COPPER, AND 43.8 PERCENT OF BASO4. CONCENTRATE PRODUCTION FROM THE RUDNANY II MINE, FOR THE YEAR 1989, WAS 353.6 METRIC TONS OF IRON CONCENTRATE AND 56.4 METRIC TONS OF BASO4 CONCENTRATE. THE GRADES OF THE CONCENTRATE FOR THE YEAR 1989 WERE 35.12 PERCENT IRON AND 95.9 PERCENT BASO4. THE FLOTATION RECOVERY RATES ARE 35.12 PERCENT FOR IRON AND 61.6 PERCENT FOR BASO4. THE 1992 MINING ANNUAL REVIEW ESTIMATED THAT TOTAL IRON ORE PRODUCTION FOR THE COUNTRY OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA, FOR THE YEAR 1991, WAS 1.76 MILLION METRIC TONS.
