| Deposit | THE MINISTRY OF MINING OFFICIALS REPORT THE HEAD GRADES OF ORE EXPLOITED IS APPROXIMATELY 28% FE2O3. HOWEVER, SOME PUBLISHED ROMANIAN SOURCES SUGGEST AVERAGE HEAD GRADES OF 31.7% FE2O3. (1989) THE OCCURENCE OF THE MINERALIZATION OF THE ORE BODY IS BELIEVED TO BE THE RESULT OF A COMBINATION OF VOLCANIC AND SEDIMENTARY ACTIVITY. THE ORE IS FOUND ENCLOSED IN A COMBINATION OF UNSPECIFIED IGNEOUS AND UNSPECIFIED SEDIMENTARY ROCK FORMATIONS. (1989) THE ORE AT THE CLUJ-NAPOCA MINE SITE ALSO CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 9% SIO2, 10.1% MGO, AND 18% CAO. (1989) |
