Subject category Comment text
Deposit DINAGAT AND ADLAY-CARASCAL ARE SEPARATE NEW NI DEPOSITS THE MINING CONCESSIONS TO BOTH ARE HELD BY MARINDUQUE, WHICH ALSO OWNS AND OPERATES THE NONOC MINE AND THE SURIGAO SMELTER ON NONOC ISLAND. THIS REPORT COVERS ONLY THE DINAGAT DEPOSIT. THE NONOC MINE IS UNDER SEQUENCE #5650210005. THE LATERITIC NICKEL ORES ORIGINATED FROM WEATHERING OF PERIDOTITE IN SERPENTINIZED ULTRAMAFIC ROCK. LATERITE OCCURS AS A MANTLE OVERLYING THE ULTRAMAFIC BEDROCK. THIS MANTLE FOLLOWS THE TOPOGRAPHY AND VARIES IN THICKNESS FROM 0 TO 20 METERS.
