Comments on the production information

  • IN 1965, 2,950 METERS DIAMOND DRILLING & 716 METERS OF UNDER TUNNELING WAS DONE IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH RESERVES. MINING METHOD IS SINGLE BENCH, OPEN PIT. THERE WAS 1-10 MILLION TONS OF WASTE. THE MILL FEED CAPACITY WAS 3200 TONS/DAY. THE CONCENTRATOR IS BEING EXPANDED TO 7,500 TONS/DAY. UNDERGROUND BLOCK CAVING HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO SUPPLY NEEDED ORE FOR EXPANSION. LACK OF RAINFALL IN 1973 CREATED PROBLEMS. SUBSEQUENT UTILIZATION OF THE AMBURAYAN TAILINGS DAM ALLEVIATED THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THE ULLMANN TUNNELS WERE CONNECTED AFTER A TOTAL DISTANCE OF 8,793 FT, BUT THIS EFFORT FAILED. THE NEW ULLMANN OREBODY IS BEING WORKED. THE COMPANY HOPES TO EXPLORE THE TONGUED AREA AND THE AREA AROUND THE ORIGINAL BAGUIO GOLD CLAIMS. IN 1973, A TOTAL OF 9,035,537 POUNDS OF COPPER METAL, 3,990 OZS. GOLD AND 25,077 OZS. SILVER WERE PRODUCED AT A RECOVERY RATE OF 66.48%. THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF COPPER ORE TREATED AMOUNTED TO 1,355,765 DST, AVERAGING 0.5% COPPER AND 0.011 OZS. GOLD PER DST. THE ULLMANN OREBODY YIELDED 4000 TONS/ DAY DURING THIS TIME. IN 1974, 3,517 METRIC TONS OF ORE VALUED AT 44,811,922 P WERE PRODUCED. THIS REPRESENTS A 14.16% DECREASE IN PRODUCTION AND A 5.68 P/TON INCREASE IN PRICE COMPARED TO 1973. SINCE NO BREAKDOWN OF SURFACE/UG RESERVES, SURFACE MINING IS IGNORED COMPLETELY IN EVALUATION. MINE CLOSED JAN. 1982.
