Deposit THE MANGYIANGAO IRON DEPOSIT IS LOCATED 475 KM SOUTH OF CHENGDU AND 30 KM SE OF HUIDUONG COUNTY. IT IS ACCESSIBLE BY THE XICHANG-HUIDUNG MAIN ROAD. THIS IS THE BIGGEST RICH IRON DEPOSIT IN SICHUAN PROVINCE. IT CONSISTS OF THREE DISTRICTS: MANGYIANGAO, SHUANSHUIJIN, AND YIONJEACHUN. THEY CAN ALL BE MINED BY OPEN PIT EXCEPT FOR SHUANSHUIJIN. THE ORE PRODUCTS FROM THE MINE MAINLY SUPPLY THE PANZHIHUA STEEL PLANT THROUGH ROAD TRANSPORTATION. THEY ARE USED DIRECTLY BY THIS EXTRACTION PLANT WITHOUT BENEFICIATION.
