  • THE ALLUVIAL CASSITERITE HAS BEEN DERIVED MAINLY FROM MINERALIZED CONTACT ZONES BETWEEN GRANITE AND SEDIMENTS BY NORMAL WEATHERING PROCESSES, AND HAS THEN BEEN TRANSPORTED BY STREAM ACTION TO THE LOW-LYING GROUND AT THE FOOT OF THE GRANITE HILLS.
  • THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF THESE ALLUVIAL TIN DEPOSITS WERE MOST LIKELY QUARTZ-CASSITERITE VEINS AND STOCKWORKS LOCATED IN THE MAIN RANGE GRANITES. THE MAIN ORE IS CASSITERITE WITH MINOR QUANTITIES OF WOLFRAMITE, SCHEELITE, TANTALITE-COLUMBITE, ILMENITE, ZIRCON, MONAZITE, ARGENTIFEROUS GALENA, AND GOLD.
