Subject category Comment text
Environmental Factors NO MILL TAILINGS WERE OBSERVED AT THIS SITE DURING THE INVESTIGATION. THREE DISCHARGING ADITS WERE IDENTIFIED AT THE SITE; ALL OF THESE DISCHARGES ENTERED CURTAIN CREEK. ONE SAMPLE WAS COLLECTED FOR LABORATORY ANALYSIS. MAXIMUM CONTAMINANT LEVELS FOR ARSENIC, CADMIUM, AND COPPER WERE EXCEEDED IN THE ADIT DISCHARGE. CURTAIN CREEK FLOWED DIRECETLY THROUGH TWO WASTE ROCK DUMPS AT THE SITE. OBSERVED RELEASES TO CURTAIN CREEK WERE DOCUMENTED FOR ARSENIC, COPPER, AND ZINC. THE MAXIMUM CONTAMINANT LEVEL FOR CADMIUM WAS EXCEEDED IN THE DOWNSTREAM SURFACE WATER SAMPLE; HOWEVER, THE EXCEEDANCE WAS NOT ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE SITE. ONE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS, PARTIALLY COLLAPSED SHAFT WAS IDENTIFIED AT THE SITE.
