  • 400 TONS OF ORE WERE RAISED BUT NOT SHIPPED IN 1879. THE MAG SURVEYS OF 1944 AND 1945 DISCLOSED A VERY ERRATIC AREA OF HIGH ANOMALIES, INDICATING A SERIES OF PARALLEL LENSES OF MAGNETITE-BEARING MATERIAL.
