Comments on the production information

  • THE MOST LIKELY USE FOR THE ILMENITE CONCENTRATE WOULD BE IN THE MANUFACTURE OF SORELSLAG, WHICH HAS A MINIMUM SPECIFICATION OF 70% TIO2. THE ANNUAL AVERAGE PRODUCTION OF CONCENTRATE AFTER 1985 IS ESTIMATED AT 400,000 TONS OF CONCENTRATE, AVERAGING 34% OF TIO2 AND 43% OF FE.

Comments on other economic factors

  • BY ASSUMING THAT THE DEPOSITS ARE FEASIBLE, AND THAT CONSTRUCTION STARTS IN 1981, FULL PRODUCTION OF THE PROPERTY COULD BE EXPECTED IN 1985. AS OF 1992 PROPERTY WAS NOT IN PRODUCTION. ON THE BASIS OF TOTAL MINABLE RESERVES, ORE (IN SITU RESERVES AND MINE RECOVERY) OF 30,020,000 METRIC TONS AND A PRODUCTION RATE OF 1,000,000 METRIC TONS OF ORE PER YEAR, THE PROPERTY WILL HAVE A LIFE OF 30 YEARS. ORE WILL PROBABLY BE MILLED ON SITE AND THEN SHIPPED TO THE SOREL SMELTER FOR PRODUCTION OF TITANIA SLAG.
