Comments on the geologic information

  • SILVERMINE AREA IS EXTENSIVELY DOLOMITIZED AND STRONGLY BRECCIATED. DEPOSIT IS STRATIFORM FORMING A TABULAR BODY 5 M THICK, DIPPING TO NORTH AT VARIETY OF ANGLES (5-45 DEGS) AND OCCURS IN LOWER CARBONIFEROUS (MISSISSIPPIAN) LIMESTONES IN THE HANGING WALL OF EAST-NORTHEAST TRENDING SILVERMINES FAULT. THE BARITE OREBODY IS SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE DOLOMITE BRECCIA (HANGING WALL) AND NODULAR LIMESTONE (FOOTWALL). ORIGIN OF OREBODY IS BELIEVED TO BE SYNSEDIMENTARY OREBODY DELINEATED BY CORE DRILLING STARTING IN 1959 UP THRU 1977. ACQUISITION COST NOT KNOWN. PROPERTY LEASED FROM SILVER- LEAD AND ZINC CO., LTD., IN 1960.
