Comments on the geologic information

  • ALL INFORMATION PROVIDED FOR THIS DATA BASE IS FROM THE CIA MINERA BARITEX FOREIGN BARITE DEPOSIT REPORT BY BROWN & ROOT DEVELOPMENT, INC., HOUSTON, TEXAS, SEP 8, 1983, UNDER USBM CONTRACT NO J0225017, DEVELOPMENT OF ENGINEERING AND COST DATE FOR FOREIGN ANTIMONY/BARITE PROPERITES. MINE DILUTION IS 0 AND MINE RECOVERY IS 100% MINING IS DONE BY GLORY-HOLE, GOPHER AND UNDERGROUND METHODS ON NUMEROUS SMALL VEINS. FOR THIS EVALUATION ASSUME 1/2 PRODUCTION FROM SURFACE AND OTHER HALF FROM UNDERGROUND. DURING 1983-1984 DIRECT SHIP ORE MINED, IN 1985 REMAINING ORE IS LOW GRADE ORE BENEFICIATED IN ON-SITE MILL. ORE BODY CONSISTS OF NUMEROUS, SMALL, HYDROTHERMAL, VEIN TYPE DEPOSITS. MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN VOLCANIC ANDESITE (JURASSIC AGE). STRIKES ARE NW, N, + NE AND DIP ANGLE VARIES FROM 80 DEGS EAST OR WEST TO VERTICAL.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • ALLOCATED 1/3 MINE EQUIPMENT COST TO UNDERGROUND AND 2/3 COS TO SURFACE MINE. MINE WORKING CAP COST SPLIT 1/2 TO SURFACE MINE AND 1/2 TO UNDERGROUND MINE. SINCE MINE WORKING CAP REDUCED AND MILL IS PROCESSING REMAINING SMALL AMOUNT OF ORE. MILL WORKING CAPITAL IS NIL. M9C4=M1C1. PROBABLE RESERVES = 75% PROB. CAT. PROB. + POSSIBLE RESERVE ESTIMATES = 50% PROB. CAT. M1C1=M2C1+M3C1; THIS MATRIX REPRESENTS HIGH-GRADE DIRECT SHIP ORE THAT IS MINED IN 1983-1984. THIS MATRIX REPRESENTS LOW-GRADE ORE THAT WILL BE PROCESSED IN BENEFICIATION PLANT IN 1985. M9C5=M2C1. M9C6=M3C1.

Comments on other economic factors

  • ACCESS TO UNDERGROUND MINES IS THROUGH 4-METER SQUARE ADITS OF VARYING LENGTHS. MAXIMUM LENGTH IS 280 METERS. ROCKS ARE COMPETENT AND HARDNESS OF ROCK IS 3 TO 3.5. ABRASIVE INDEX IS 0.3. NO ROOF SUPPORT NEEDED.
