Deposit THE HUANGMAILING DEPOSIT IS LOCATED 8 KM SOUTH OF DAWU. IN 1989, THE IBRD APPROVED A USD 137 MILLION LOAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PHOSPHATE INDUSTRY IN THE HUBEI PROVINCE. OF THE 137 MILLION, USD 42.7 MILLION WAS ALLOCATED FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW OPEN PIT MINE AND CONSTRUCTION OF A BENEFICIATION PLANT, SULPHURIC AND PHOSPHORIC ACID PLANTS, A MAP PLANT AND VARIOUS INFRASTRUCTURE. THE 300,000 T/YR SURFACE MINE IS EXPANDING TO 1.0 MILLION T/YR BY THE END OF 1994. PUBLISHED RESERVES 110 MILLION TONS. EXPANSION INCLUDES A BENEFICIATION PLANT, A 93,000 T/YR PHOSPHORIC ACID PLANT, A 180,000 T/YR MONOAMMONIUM PHOSPHATE PLANT, AAND A 280,000 T/YR SULFURIC ACID PLANT.
