Deposit DEPOSIT IS A STRATA-BOUND FELSIC ALKALINE TUFF, OCCURRING WITH TRACHYTES, PHONOLITIC PYROCLASTICS AND LAVA, THOLEIITIC BASALTS, TUFFACEOUS & MICACEOUS SANDSTONES, SILTSTONES, AND CARBONATES. ORE MINERALOGY CONSISTS OF VERY FINE-GRAINED DISSEMINATED COLUMBITE, TANTO-COLUMBITE, PYROCLORE, GEL-ZIRCON, SYNCHISITE, CERIANITE, BASTNASITE, XENOTIME, CASSITERITE, AND SPHALERITE. A PILOT PLANT, RATED AT 2 MTPD, WAS RUN USING AN ACID LEACH METHOD, WITH A RECOVERY RATE OF 75%. PRODUCTION PLANS ARE FOR 200,000 MTPY OF ROCK, WITH 40% RECOVERY OF TANTALUM, AND 70% RECOVERY OF ALL OTHER PRODUCTS PROJECTED OUTPUT WOULD BE 1,500 MTPY ZIRCONIUM, 37 MTPY HRE, 24 MTPY DYSPROSIUM, 6 MTPY SAMARIUM, AND 3 MTPY TERBIUM.
