  • LOWER MISSISSIPPIAN-UPPER DEVONIAN KANAYUT CONGLOMERATE CONSISTING OF QUARTZ & CHERT PEBBLE CONGLOMERATE & CLEAN WHITE SANDSTONE (OF26-81). TWO MINERAL ZONES 1). CONTAINS BARITE WEATHERING OUT OF THE SIKSIKPUK FORMATION, 2). CONTAINS DARK RED WEATHERED ROCKS OF THE KAYAK FORMATION W/IN BLACK SHALES OVERLAIN (/) BY PYRITIFEROUS CARBONATES & CHERTS (OF38-80). 1992 BUREAU WORK INCLUDED SAMPLING A THREE MILE WIDE ZONE CONTAINING GALENA AND SPHALERITE. SELECT SAMPLES CONTAINED UP 46% LEAD, 12% ZINC, AND 685 G/MT SILVER. A CHIP SAMPLE CONTAINED 25.2% ZINC, 8.5% LEAD, 278 G/MT SILVER, AND 925 PPM COPPER. AN ADDITIONAL STRINGER ZONE CONTAINED 22% LEAD, 7% ZINC , AND 274 G/MT SILVER. (BMOF 12-93).
