  • CLOSELY SPACED QUARTZ-CALCITE SEAMS & VEINS OCCUPYING THREE DIFFERENT FRACTURE SYSTEMS IN THE HAZELTON(?) GROUP HORNFELS. PROSPECT LOCATED ABOUT 0.5 MI N. OF CONTACT WITH HYDER QUARTZ MONZONITE . THE SULFIDE-BEARING VEINS RANGE IN THICKNESS FROM 1 TO 15 CM. PYRITE, GALENA, MOLYBDENITE, & CHALCOPYRITE IN THE QUARTZ-CALCITE GANGUE. THE VEINS EXPOSED ARE TOO LOW IN METAL VALUES & TOO-NARROW TO MINE INDIVIDUALLY. DEVELOPMENT IS A PIT & AN OPEN CUT. LAST RECORDED ACTIVITY WAS IN 1972. PROSPECT IS IN THE PROPOSED GRANITE FIORDS WILDERNESS AREA
