Comments on the reserve resource information

  • GRADE ONLY APPLIES TO THE RESOURCES AT THE 50% LEVEL. RESOURCES BASED ON ARTICLE PUBLISHED BY MILLER. ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE IN RESPONSE TO INFORMATION GATHERED FROM EILERTSEN AND THE NATIONAL MATERIAL ADVISORY BOARD.
  • RECORDS 3, 4, & 5 ARE BASED ON DEPOSITS >50 FEET BUT <100 FE AND ARE CALCULATED TO A DEPTH OF 100 FEET. RECORDS 6, 7, & 8 ARE BASED ON DEPOSITS >100 FEET WIDE AND A CALCULATED TO A DEPTH OF 200 FEET. ALTHOUGH OTHER MANGANESE DEPOSITS MAY EXTEND DEEPER, CALCULATIONS WERE NOT MADE ASSUMING THE EXPENSE OF MINING THIS DEEP ORE BY SURFACE METHODS WOULD BE TOO COSTLY. LISTED AS PER WILBAND 1970,IN THESE DISTRICTS TO BE NEARLY TWICE THAT OF MANGANESE.
