Comments on the location information

  • Political location in record is Madison county. However, original lat/long plots in Beaverhead county. The reference is unpublished and will be difficult to check (see other comment). Original coordinates were: lat/long NAD27 45-32-48N 113-39-44W (45.5467 -113.6622); UTM N5046911 E292176 Z12N; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 003 S, RNG 007 W, Sect 25, Sect_fract <blank>. PLSS coordinates translate to 45.546 -112.413, 1.25 degrees due east of the original lat/long. This falls in Madison county but Google Earth shows it to be residential, possibly agricultural area. Mine is said to be underground so lat/long was changed to agree with PLSS coordinates.
