ALTA GOLD ANNOUNCED THAT IT HAS INCREASED ITS LAND POSITION BY MORE THAN 50% FROM APPROX. 4300 ACRES TO MORE THAN 6700 ACRES. MINEABLE AU RESERVES ARE 662,200 OZ. THE COMPANY IS IN THE FINAL STAGES OF PERMITTING THE INITIAL MINE AT OLINGHOUSE. OPERATIONS ARE SCHEDULED TO BEGIN THIS SUMMER (1997) AND AU PRODUCTION AT AN ANNUALIZED RATE OF 120,000 OZ/YEAR IS EXPECTED TO COMMENCE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER (5-97). |
