Comments on the reserve resource information

  • THE GOVERNMENT OF BELARUS PASSED A PROGRAM TO ACCELERATE GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION TO DEVELOP THE RAW MATERIAL BASE. UNDER THE PROGRAM, PRELIMINARY EXPLORATION OF THE OKOLOVSKOE IRON ORE FIELD IN CENTRAL BELARUS, BELIEVED TO CONTAIN 500 MILLION METRIC TONS OF ORE AND CONTAIN A TOTAL RESERVE OF 1 BILLION METRIC TONS OF ORE, WITH AN AVERAGE IRON CONTENT OF 26 TO 27 PERCENT, WILL BE CONDUCTED THIS YEAR. THE PLANNED CONSTRUCTION OF A MINE SHAFT AT THE FIELD IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE 14 MILLION METRIC TONS OF ORE A YEAR, AND IS EXPECTED TO ENABLE THE PRODUCTION OF CLOSE TO 4 MILLION METRIC TONS OF MAGNETITE CONCENTRATE WITH AN AVERAGE IRON CONTENT OF 75 PERCENT. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THE MINE WILL OPERATE FOR 29 YEARS.
