Comments on the geologic information

  • MINERALIZATION IS BELIEVED TO BE MINERAL ENRICHMENT AT THE DEPOSITIONAL INTERFACE, DURING AND FOLLOWING DEPOSITION. THE ORE IS CONCENTRATED IN GOSSANS ALONG THE CONTACT BETWEEN PRE-PLIOCENE BASEMENT ROCKS AND THE OVERLYING SED. ROCKS. THE PLIOCENE ABOVE BASEMENT ROCKS HAVE INTERBEDDED COAL DEPOSITS WHICH CONTAIN MUCH OF THE COPPER ORE.
  • THE CHALCOCITE IS AN ALTERATION PRODUCT OF CHALCOPYRITE, BORNITE OR PYRITE. THE MANGANESE DEPOSIT IS LIMITED TO ONE CLASTIC BED ABOVE THE UNCONFORMITY. THE GENERAL PARAGENETIC SEQUENCE OF PRIMARY SULPHIDE MINERALIZATION IS PYRITE, GALENA, SPHALERITE, TENNANITE, BORNITE AND CHALCOPYRITE.
