  • THE PRODUCTION FOR THIS PARTICULAR MINE WILL BE AN UNKNOWN PERCENTAGE OF THE TOTAL UNDERGROUND AND SURFACE PRODUCTION OF BAUXITE FOR THE BAKONY BAUXITE MINES, INCLUDING THE NYIRAD, HALIMBA III, IHARKUT, AND THE BITO II MINES, EXCLUDING THE 450,000 TONS OF BAUXITE PRODUCTION PER YEAR FROM THE FENYOFO I MINE. HOWEVER AS OF THE TIME THAT THIS INFORMATION FOR THIS MINE WAS GATHERED, WHICH WAS 1989, THE BAKINYOSZLOP MINE WAS NOT YET PRODUCING, THEREFORE, THE TOTAL CAPACITY FOR THIS MINE IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME, AND AS OF 1989, NO PRODUCTION FROM THIS MINE HAS YET TAKEN PLACE. IT MUST BE NOTED, THAT EVEN THOUGH EXTENSIVE PUMPING HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN LOWERING THE WATER TABLE BELOW THE BAUXITE ORE OF THE NYIRAD MINES WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY SUPPLYING THE SURROUNDING DOMESTIC, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND INDUSTRIAL NEEDS, THIS PUMPING OF THE GROUNDWATER OVER THE YEARS HAS UPSET THE NATURAL EQUILIBRIUM OF THE WATER TABLE. IN AN EFFORT TO PRESERVE THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT, THE RATE OF WATER PUMPING HAS BEEN REDUCED TO THE EXTENT THAT THE NYIRAD BAUXITE MINES HAVE BEEN REFLOODED. THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE NYIRAD MINES WERE EXPECTED TO CEASE PRODUCTION IN 1990. THE CLOSURE OF THE NYIRAD BAUXITE MINES IS ESTIMATED TO RESULT IN THE LOSS OF TWO MILLION TONS OF HIGH QUALITY BAUXITE.

THE TOTAL RESERVES OF 167,000,000 TONS ARE SUFFICIENT FOR NEARLY SEVENTY YEARS OF PRODUCTION AT THE CURRENT RATES OF MINING. THE ALUMINUM GRADE AS REPORTED BY C.R.U. RANGED FROM 50.06% TO 50.84% AND IS A HEAD GRADE WHICH PROBABLY INCLUDED DILUTION.

Deposit THE BAKINYOSZLOP MINE WILL BE DEVELOPED TO REPLACE THE NYIRAD MINES. THE BAKINYOSZLOP MINE CONTAINS SEVERAL LENTICULAR OREBODIES WHICH WILL BE WORKED BY OPEN PIT AND UNDERGROUND METHODS. NOTE, THAT THE GEOLOGIC AGE IN THE LITHOLOGY SECTION ON THE ADIT/MAS FORM FOR THE BAKINYOSZLOP MINE IS OF THE MESOZOIC ERA, WHERE IN FACT, THE GEOLOGIC AGE MORE ACCURATELY RANGES FROM THE UPPER TRIASSIC TO THE MIDDLE OF THE EOCENE EPOCH OF THE TERTIARY PERIOD. FURTHERMORE, THE BAUXITE ORE IS ENCLOSED IN SEDIMENTARY ROCK WHICH GRADES FROM A UPPER TRIASSIC DOLOMITE UP TO A MIDDLE EOCENE LIMESTONE, THUS IS THE REASON WHY THE ROCK NAME IS LISTED AS A DOLOMITIC- LIMESTONE FOR SIMPLICITY. THE MAIN BAUXITE MINERAL IS BOEHMITE, AND THE RATIO OF AL2O3 TO SIO2 IN THE GEOLOGICAL RESOURCE IS 6 TO 1. THE SILICATE CONTENT, SIO2, FOR EACH PRODUCTION YEAR UNDER THE PRODUCTION HISTORY SECTION OF THE ADIT/MAS INFORMATION FORM IS AS FOLLOWS: FOR 1984, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.25%; FOR 1985, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.31%; FOR 1986, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.57%; FOR 1987, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.61%; FOR 1988, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.51%; FOR 1989, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.07%; AND FOR 1990, THE SIO2 CONTENT IS 7.49%. MOBILE MINING EQUIPMENT INCLUDES ATLAS COPCO CAVO 310 LOADERS, GHH LHD MACHINES, AND ATLAS COPCO CAVO DRILLING RIGS IN THE UNDERGROUND MINES. THERE IS NO CRUSHING OR CONCENTRATING PLANT FOR THE BAKINYOSZLOP MINE, NOR FOR ANY OF THE BAKONY BAUXITE MINES, INCLUDING THE NYIRAD, HALIMBA III, IHARKUT, FENYOFO I, AND THE BITO II MINES. THE TOTAL LABOR FORCE FOR ALL OF THESE JUST NAMED MINES WAS PROJECTED TO BE AT 3,200 PERSONNEL IN 1990. NOTE FURTHER, THAT THE STRIKE AND DIP INFORMATION FOR THIS MINE, AMONG THE OTHER MINES MENTIONED IN THE FOREGOING PARAGRAPH, IS ONLY PARTIALLY GIVEN. IT IS HARD TO DISCERN WHETHER THE NUMERICAL VALUE GIVEN, 10 N, IS THE STRIKE OR THE DIP OF THE BEDS.
