Comments on the geologic information

  • "THE MAIN PHOSPHORITE HORIZON IS A REGIONAL METAMORPHISED GREY DOLOMITE-APATITE ROCK, WITH ADMIXED QUARTZ, PYRITE AND MICA, IN WHICH THE AMORPHOUS PHOSPHATE OF THE ORIGINAL ROCK HAS BEEN ALTERED TO MICROCRYSTALLINE FLURAPATITE. IT VARIES IN THICKNESS FROM 6-12M AND, IN THE WEATHERED STATE IN WHICH IT IS KNOWN AS GRADE 2 ORE, CARRIES 23-24% P2O5."BRIT SULPH. "WEATHERING OF THE UPPER ZONES, REMOVING CARBONATE AND SILICA IN SOLUTION, HAS GIVEN RISE TO SIGNIFICANT RESERVES OF A HIGH-GRADE ORE, CARRYING 35-42% P2O5, KNOWN AS GRADE 1 ORE." BRIT SULPH.
