Comments on the reserve resource information

  • 75% PROBABILITY LEVEL IS ESTIMATE OF TONNAGE CONTAINED IN 6 SEAMS (NO.S 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 AND 9) FOR A DOWN DIP EXTENSION OF 300 METERS (ABOUT 125 METERS VERTICAL DEPTH). ESTIMATED THICKNESSES FOR THE 6 SEAMS ARE .10,.12,.12..15,.15 AND .10 METERS RESPECTIVELY. ESTIMATED STRIKE LENGTHS OF OUTCROPS OF THE 6 SEAMS ON THE SECTION ARE 4,000 METERS FOR ALL 6 SEAMS. 50% PROBABILITY LEVEL TONNAGE ESTIMATE IS MADE ASSUMING EXTENSIONS DOWN DIP OF 1000 METERS FOR SEAM 4, 1200 METERS FOR SEAMS 5&6, AND 1500 METERS FOR SEAMS 7,8, AND 9.

Deposit THERE ARE 9 SEAMS THAT MAKE UP THE CROWN/DIVIDE NORTH SECTION. HOWEVER, SEAMS 1,2, AND 3 APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN DEPLETED. SEAMS 4& 5 PROPOSED TO BE MINED AND SEAMS 6 & 7 ARE PRESENTLY BEING MINED. THE INDIVIDUAL SEAM LIFES ARE: SEAM SEAM SEAM SEAM SEAM #6 & 7 #8 #5 #4 #9 ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- (1980-2031) (2030-2060) (2061-2083) (2084-2102) (2103-2121) 52YR. LIFE 29YR. LIFE 23YR. LIFE 19YR. LIFE 19YR. LIFE THE Q-RESERVES WERE DERIVED FROM DIMENSIONAL DATA. THE INDIVIUAL SEAM LIFES ARE GIVEN ABOVE. HOWEVER, DUE TO LIMITS ON MINE LIFE ENTRY, THE ENDING YEAR OF THE MINE WILL BE 2049. FROM 1980 TO 2031 SEAMS 6 & 7 WILL BE MINED WITH A FEED GRADE OF 51.1; FROM 2032 TO 2049 A WEIGHTED AVERAGE WILL BE USED TO REPRESENT A MINE LIFE FROM 2032 TO 2121. THE REPRESENTATIVE ORE/FEED GRADE % WILL BE 50.52 FOR SEAMS 8,5,4, AND 9. HOWEVER, TO GET ONE UNIQUE GRADE% OF CR2O3 THE TWO NUMBERS WERE WEIGHT AVERAGED TO END WITH A ORE FEED GRADE % OF 50.5 AND A CONC. GRADE OF 50.89% CR2O3. THE ENTIRE MINE LIFE IS 142 YRS. INFORMATION FROM 1981 INDICATES THAT AFRICAN MINES WAS PRODUCING FROM OPERATIONS IN THE CROWN/DIVIDE NORTH SECTION. THIS ANALYSIS TREATS A SINGLE SECTION OF THE GREAT DYKE AS ONE MINEABLE UNIT, THE "CROWN/DIVIDE NORTH SECTION". IN REALITY MORE THAN ONE COMPANY MAY HOLD LEASES FOR THE AREA COVERED BY ONE OF THESE SECTIONS AND MORE THAN ONE MINE COULD BE PRODUCING SIMULTANEOUSLY. TO ANALIZE THE GREAT DIVIDE FOR AVAILABILITY IT WAS NECESSARY TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION IN A LOGICAL, COMPARTMENTALIZED FORMAT. HENCE, THE "CROWN/DIVIDE NORTH SECTION" REFERS TO A 4KM SECTION FROM DIVIDE NORTH (S 17 DEG. 30 MIN.) TO ABOUT 1KM SOUTH OF MAQUADZI AND ONLY COVERS CHROMITE SEAMS OF THE EAST LIMB OF THE GREAT DYKE IN THIS AREA. IT IS BELIEVED TO COVER PRODUCTION FROM 2 CLAIMS IN 1980; DIVIDE NORTH AND CROWN 18.
