Comments on the geologic information

  • THE BRUCE DEPOSIT IS A MASSIVE, PYRITIC, ZINC-COPPER DEPOSIT STRATABOUND IN STEEPLY DIPPING PRECAMBRIAN (1.8 BILLION YRS OLD) METAMORPHIC VOLCANICS. MASSIVE SULFIDES OCCUR IN SERICITIC SCHIST (BEDDED-TUFF ORIGINALLY) AT TOPS OF ANDESITIC FLOWS. THE DICK RHYOLITE IS A MEMBER OF THE BRIDLE FM. THE BRIDLE FM CONSISTS PRIMARILY OF METAMORPHOSED ANDESITE TO BASALTIC FLOWS, TUFFS, AND VOLCANOGENIC SEDIMENTS. THE DICK RHYOLITE IS A RHYOLITE EXTRUSIVE THAT HAS BEEN METAMORPHOSED TO A FOLIATED QUARTZ-SERICITE SCHIST.

Comments on the production information

  • THE OLD DICK DEPOSIT IS IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE BRUCE DEPOSIT. THIS DEPOSIT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1882. THE BURIED BRUCE DEPOSIT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1964 AND THOUGHT TO BE A DEEPER EXTENSION OF THE OLD DICK DEPOSIT. CYPRUS GEOLOGISTS NOW BELIEVE THEY ARE TWO DISTINCT, BUT SIMILAR DEPOSITS.
