General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit The rocks in the walls and bottoms of canyons are redbeds and white gypsiferous beds of the Spearfish formation. Three wells in the area discharge salt brine about 75 ft. below the top of the Spearfish formation. Regional dip is south-southwest.
