Comments on the site identification

  • Listed as being in Albany County in Osterwald and others, Bull. 50, p. 124, but also listed as being in T19N, R78W which is in Carbon County, albeit only about 4 or 5 miles west of the county line.
  • Apparent confusion over two (or more) Copper Kings. There appear to be 2. Using Osterwald and others, 1966, Mineral Resources of Wyoming: Geological Survey of Wyoming Bull. 50 [revised ed.], p. as a guide, it appears that the Copper King listed in Albany Co. as a Copper mine in the Esterbrook area is different from the Pb-Ag-Au "ore" body also listed in the same county.
  • Note: Copper King on p. 38 of 1966 version of Bull. 50 appears to be a different mine.
