  • HUATAN IRON DEPOSIT IS LOCATED IN NINLAN COUNTY, LIANSHAN YI AUTONOMOUS DISTRICT, 440 KM SW OF CHENGDU. IT IS CONNECTED TO THE COUNTY BY THE 25-KM VILLAGE ROAD. THE DEPOSIT HAS A SEDIMENTAL ORIGIN DATING TO THE DEVONIAN PERIOD. THE PRINCIPAL INDUSTRIAL MINERAL IS HEMATITE. BECAUSE OF ITS HIGHER CONTENT OF PHOSPHORUS, THE DEPOSIT IS NOT MINED YET.
