  • THE ZHONGZHOU ALUMINUM PLANT IS TESTING A 200,000 METRIC TON PER YEAR ALUMINA PLANT, WHICH HAD COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION IN 1992. THE ZHENGZHOU PLANT PLANS TO EXPAND ITS OUTPUT CAPACITY OF ALUMINA TO 800,000 METRIC TONS AND ALUMINUM TO 50,000 METRIC TONS IN 1995.

PRIOR TO THE FORMATION OF THE GREAT WALL ALUMINUM CORPORATION, THERE WAS CRONIC INTRA-PROVINCIAL AND INTER-PROVINCIAL COMPETITION FOR RAW MATERIALS BETWEEN BOTH THE ZHENGZHOU AND THE ZHONGZHOU ALUMINUM PLANTS. IN JUNE OF 1992, THE CHINA NATIONAL NONFERROUS METALS INDUSTRY CORPORATION COMBINED THE ZHENGZHOU ALUMINUM PLANT, THE ZHENGZHOU LIGHT METALS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, AND THE ZHONGZHOU ALUMINUM PLANT AND MINING COMPANY TO FORM THE CHINA GREAT WALL ALUMINUM CORPORATION. THE GREAT WALL ALUMINUM CORPORATION HAS SINCE THAT TIME COORDINATED AND MANAGED THE ALUMINUM RESOURCES OF BOTH ZHENGZHOU AND ZHONGZHOU IN THE HENAN PROVINCE.

Deposit THE GREAT WALL ALUMINUM CORPORATION IN THE HENAN PROVINCE IS A VERTICALLY INTEGRATED COMPLEX COMBINING TWO EXISTING ALUMINUM PLANTS, THE ZHENGZHOU AND THE ZHONGZHOU PLANTS. THE ALREADY ESTABLISHED ZHENGZHOU ALUMINUM PLANT HAS VARIOUS OPERATIONS, SUCH AS A DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, A MINING COMPANY IN CHARGE OF SIX MINES, AND ELEVEN PROCESSING PLANTS. THE ZHONGZHOU ALUMINUM PLANT IS LOCATED 75 KILOMETERS NORTHWEST OF ZHENGZHOU.
