Comments on the production information

  • THE COPPER ZINC CONCENTRATE MAY ALSO CONTAIN A RECOVERABLE AMOUNT OF SILVER, BUT TO DATE THE SILVER ASSAYS AND CON- CENTRATOR RECOVERIES ARE UNKNOWN. THE UNIT PRODUCT COST LISTED FOR PRODUCT A, TIN CONCENTRATE, INCLUDES A $544.01 SMELTING COST FOR THE TIN CONCENTRATE AND A $14.00 MILLING COST PER TONNE FOR THE ORE. THE UNIT PRODUCT COST LISTED FOR PRODUCT C, ZINC--CU/ZN CONCENTRATE, CONTAINS THE SMELTING COST OF $237.73 FOR BOTH THE COPPER AND ZINC PRODUCTS, PRODUCT B AND C.

Comments on the reserve resource information

Comments on other economic factors

  • TIN CONCENTRATES WOULD BE TRANSPORTED BY TRUCK IN BULK TO THE CAPPER PASS SMELTER AND REFINERY AT NORTH FERRIBY NEAR HULL. COPPER-ZINC CONCENTRATES WOULD BE TRANSPORTED BY TRUCK TO THE RTZ SMELTER AT AVONMOUTH NEAR BRISTOL. THE $18.26 PER MT TRANS. COST FOR PRODUCT C, ZINC--CU/ZN CONCENTRATE, INCLUDES THE TRANSPORTATION OF BOTH THE COPPER AND ZINC PRODUCTS, PRODUCT B AND C. THE TRANSPORATION COST FOR PRODUCT A IS $29.04 PER MT.
  • THE OPERATION WAS CLOSED DOWN IN DECEMBER 1982 BECAUSE OF LACK OF WORKING CAPITAL AGGRAVATED BY THE HIGH PROCESSING COSTS FOR THE ORE AND LOW PERCENTAGE PAYMENTS FOR THE TIN CONCENTRATES PRODUCED FROM THE TOLL TREATMENT OF WHEAL CONCORD ORE IN THE NEARBY WHEAL JANE CONCENTRATOR. A SUBSTANTIAL INVESTMENT IS NEEDED TO CARRY OUT EXTENSIVE DIAMOND DRILLING AND OTHER EXPLORATION WORK. IF SUFFICIENT RESERVES CAN BE DEMONSTRATED, THE PROPERTY COULD BE BROUGHT INTO PRODUCTION IN 1986. WHEN SUFFICIENT FUNDS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED TO CARRY OUT APPROPRIATE EXPLORATION, TENTATIVE PLANS CALL FOR THE DRIVING OF A DECLINE PROBABLY AT A 1:4 GRADE TO PROVIDE A NEW ACCESS TO THE MINE AND ALLOW FOR GREATER PRODUCTION. A SECOND SHAFT WILL BE SUNK AT A CONVENIENT LOCATION TO, INITIALLY, A DEPTH OF 170 METERS AND THE ENGINE SHAFT WILL BE DEEPENED TO THIS SAME HORIZON. A GRAVITY CONCENTRATOR WILL BE BUILT TO PROCESS THE ORE ON SITE.
