Deposit 77-RCD 010-THE EL LACO DEPOSIT WAS INTENDED TO BE DEVELOPED MINERA SANTA FE BEGINNING IN 1960 TO PRODUCE 7 TO 10,000,0 TONNES OF ORE/YR.STATUS OF PROJECT UNKNOWN IN 1977.LOCATIO DEPOSITS IS VERY REMOTE AND DETAILED DRILLING HAD ONLY BEG 1968. 77-RCD 030-LOCATION IS APRROXIMATE,COORDINATES USED ARE THOS AREA 5 KM S.OF LACO POND 300 KM E OF ANTOFAGASTA NEAR ARG BORDER,ON PUNA PLATEAU-DEPOSIT ELEV.FROM 4,300-4,900 M. 77-RCD 080-DEPOSITS PROPER ARE DISTRIBUTED AROUND PICO LACO REST ON ANDESITIC LAVA FLOWS.OUTCROPS FORM AN ELLIPSE WITH AXIS(NE-SW) 7KM LONG AND SHORT AXIS 3 KM IN LENGTH.FIVE OR BODIES KNOWN IN 1968:LACO SUR,LACO NORTE,RODADOS NEGROS,SA VICENTE ALTO&SAN VICENTE BAJO.MAX.THICKNESS OF OUTCROPS IS SOME OF OUTCROPS ARE LAMINAR IN FORM&RELATIVELY FLAT LYING 77-RCDS 611&612-RESERVE TONNAGES ARE FROM 1968 AND VERY UNCE AS INVESTIGATION UP TO 1968 CONSISTED ONLY OF GEOLOGIC STU AND GRAVIMETRIC&MAGNETOMETRIC SURVEYING.
