  • THE MILL AND SMELTER ARE ON THE MINE SITE.
  • A SEPARATE ACCESS SHAFT TO THE 1100 OREBODY AND A NEW ORE HOISTING SHAFT WAS COMPLETED IN 1973, THUS COPPER ORE PRODUCTION BECAME COMPLETELY INDEPENDANT FROM THE LEAD-ZINC ORE PRODUCTION.

Deposit MOUNT ISA MINES LTD IS A MAJOR PRODUCER OF COPPER AS WELL AS SILVER-LEAD-ZINC. ALTHOUGH BOTH ORES ARE EXTRACTED FROM THE SAME OPERATION, THE ORE BODIES AND MINES ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE, AND THE ORES ARE TREATED IN SEPARATE PLANTS.
